The “Original” side step was developed to provide an effective and economic solution to a safety issue identified by National Grid in 2009 regarding safe entry and egress to their fleet of light commercial vehicles.

Further developed for use for a range of manufactures vehicles the "Original" side step was widely accepted and fitted by various other utility companies to address the same safety and legislation concerns.

Development has none the less continued, further refined non slip safe "step surfacing" and fitting processes have been developed providing great gains in usability and foot stability in the most adverse of conditions.

Other UK vehicle manufacturers are now expressing further positive interest in the end user advantages of the "Original" side step

The range of vehicle applications has expanded and now including the new Ford Transit Van RWD 363 2014 Whilst the shortly to be announced Iveco Daily Van including the 4x4 version will soon be available. The "Original" side step is also available to provide easy and safe entry and egress in the most severe and adverse conditions for the following range of vehicles.
